2011 Toyota Camry Reviews and Ratings

The Toyota Camry has been the best-selling car in the United States for eight years. But after the highly-publicized recall, people were more dubious to the overall quality of the Toyota Camry. Once seen as the pinnacle of reliability, Toyota Camry's reputation is on the line.

The 2011 Toyota Camry is the next-generation car to come out after the recall mess with a new accelerator pedal design. Will it gain reviewers acceptances, or will automobile experts report negative things?

Review of the 2011 Toyota Camry

Since the recall Toyota has made improvements to the braking system which ensures that the engine can’t cause the car to accelerate while the brake pedal is being pressed. While no problems for the new accelerator have leaked, reviewers gave the 2011 Toyota Camry very middling scores.

Engine Choices:

2.5-Liter Four-Cylinder producing 169 Horsepower at 22/33 MPG City/Highway (Expected to be Rated by the EPA).
3.5-Liter V6 producing 268 Horsepower at 19/28 MPG City/Highway (Expected to be Rated by the EPA).

The power and acceleration on the 2011 Toyota Camry are acceptable for reviewers, giving the 4-cylinder poor to middle ratings. While the V6 gets top ratings: "The muscular V6 is a powerhouse, good for a zero to 60-miles-per-hour burst in less than seven seconds," says Kelley Blue Book.

For the interior reviewers were generally negative citing that, "Notably, build and materials quality aren't up to the high standard set by previous-generation Camrys," says Edmunds. In terms of dashboard features Camry offers very little. Unlike other car manufacturers who build nifty systems, ie. Ford SYNC, Toyota offers the standard gauges and controls.

Overall, the 2011 Toyota Camry is a middling mid-size car, that many consumers may gloss over for the Hyundai Sonata or Ford Fusion. In terms of up-to-date, technological-advanced features - there are none, which puts the 2011 Toyota Camry at a disadvantage.
